Raise the screen, then add a keyboard

A stand only fixes your posture if the screen goes UP and your hands come DOWN. Lifting the laptop toward eye level is half the move; the other half is an external keyboard and mouse, so you are not reaching up to type on the raised machine. Skip the keyboard and a stand just trades a sore neck for sore shoulders. Budget for both, or the ergonomics never arrive.
