Privacy policy

The short version: Desk & Dowel collects as little about you as possible, does not sell your data, and only asks for information when you choose to email us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which pages people find useful. It sets cookies and collects standard, non-identifying usage data — pages viewed, rough geographic region, device type, and which of our outbound links get clicked. We use this to improve the site, not to identify you. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or with an extension, and the site works fine without them.

Affiliate links

Product links on this site are affiliate links, primarily to Amazon. When you click one, the retailer may set its own cookie to attribute a purchase to us. That is governed by the retailer’s privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for how the program works.

The contact form

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you send, and we use them only to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share your message with anyone else.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
• We do not run our own advertising network or retargeting pixels beyond analytics.
• We do not require an account — there is nothing to log into.

Third parties

The site is served by our hosting provider and uses Google Analytics and Amazon’s affiliate program, each of which has its own privacy policy. Product images are served from Amazon’s content network.
