Standards
Editorial policy
These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They exist so you can tell the difference between a recommendation we stand behind and an ad.
How products get chosen
Every product in a roundup earns its place on the published rubric— compiled specs, footprint math, and aggregated owner feedback, scored against named metrics. We start from the small-space buyer’s constraints and rank for them, not for the spec-sheet maximum. Products that do not fit a small space do not make the list, however good they are in the abstract.
How products get refused
We say no out loud. Every roundup names at least one product we would notbuy and explains why, and every product card carries a “skip this if” line. We would rather tell you a popular product is wrong for you than pad a list to look complete.
Independence
- No brand or manufacturer pays us for placement, a review, or a ranking.
- We do not accept free products in exchange for coverage.
- Affiliate commissions never influence a ranking. We rank cheaper products above pricier ones whenever the cheaper one is the better buy — see the affiliate disclosure.
Accuracy and no fabrication
We do not invent specifications, prices, ratings, or testing we did not do. Specs come from the manufacturer or retailer listing; prices come live from the Amazon Product API and vanish when they go stale; the footprint and clearance math is ours and reproducible. Where a number is not published, we say so rather than guess.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and we do not hide it. If you spot an error — a wrong dimension, an outdated pick, a product that has been discontinued — tell us on the contact page and we will correct the page. Roundups are reviewed quarterly and re-verified against current listings; prices refresh daily.
Updates
Every review and guide shows a “last updated” date. When we change a pick or a material fact, that date moves. When we only refresh a price, the number changes but the judgment stands.
